Raymedica®
Introduces HydraFlex™ Nucleus Arthroplasty System™; Expands
Product Portfolio Through the Introduction of Next Generation Technology
MINNEAPOLIS, May 9, 2006— Raymedica®, will introduce it’s
next generation technology --- the HydraFlex™ Nucleus Arthroplasty
System™ in conjunction with the Spine Arthroplasty Society (SA6)
meeting on May 10-13 in Montreal, Canada. Raymedica’s technology
will be on display at Booth #321.
With its huge impact on cost, productivity, and general quality of life,
the treatment of back pain has attracted a huge investment in time and
effort from both industry and academia. The emerging nucleus replacement
segment is contained in the U.S. spinal motion preserving and non-fusion
products market was worth approximately $186.2 million in 2004. This dynamic
market is growing at a compound annual rate of 52% and is projected to
reach more than $1.5 billion by 2009.
“This technology is the first of many new developments and introductions
that we intend to make over the coming years as we extend our leadership
in the nucleus arthroplasty market and set the stage for expansion into
additional emerging non-fusion technologies,” commented John J.
Viscogliosi, Raymedica’s Chairman and CEO. “We intend to make
continuing improvements to our surgical instrumentation and introduce
optimized devices for less invasive surgery in the treatment of degenerative
disc disease.”
