Raymedica
Launches Official Web Site, Providing Nucleus Arthroplasty™ Technology
for Degenerative Disc Disease (DDD)
MINNEAPOLIS, August 23 - After a successful three-month trial of the beta
version of Raymedica.com (www.raymedica.com), the company is pleased to
announce that it has now launched its - Nucleus Arthroplasty™ Technology
Web site.
An estimated 30 million people in the United States report experiencing
back pain each year. Of this number, 4.5 million continue to experience
back pain after receiving conservative treatment, such as physical therapy
and use of medication(s). Only a small percentage of this group for whom
conservative treatment for Degenerative Disc Disease (DDD) is unsuccessful
will be best suited for more aggressive treatments such as Total Disc
Replacement (TDR) and spinal fusion.
One of the main reasons why Raymedica.com was launched is the belief that
a much larger percentage of patients can be more effectively treated with
a Nucleus Arthroplasty™ technology solution. Raymedica’s Nucleus
Arthroplasty™ system offer several benefits over spinal fusion and
other procedures, including better long-term clinical outcomes, less invasive
surgical techniques, shorter recovery times and maintains a more normal
range of motion.
John J. Viscogliosi, Chairman and CEO, “Patients, surgeons, and
educational institutions are now in an excellent position to fully and
easily access valuable information on Nucleus Arthroplasty™ technology
using web services available on Raymedica.com.” Mr. Viscogliosi
continued “we believe that as spinal arthroplasty device technology
advances, the market for our technology will expand and erode the use
of more invasive treatments for DDD, such as TDR’s and spinal fusion.”
