Raymedica Announces the Appointment of Three New Spine Surgeons to its Surgeon Advisory Board

MINNEAPOLIS, September 28 - Raymedica, Inc., announced the appointment of three new spine specialty surgeons to the Company’s Surgeon Advisory Board. Joining the board are Salvador A. Brau M.D., F.A.C.S., Reginald Davis, M.D., F.A.C.S., and Michael R. Hahn, II, MD.

Salvador A. Brau, M.D., F.A.C.S., trained in general-vascular surgery at the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City and has been performing anterior access procedures to all levels of the spine for over 21 years. He has written four chapters for Dr. Robert Watkins’ book, Surgical Approaches to the Spine, Second Edition and the "access" chapter for Spinal Arthroplasty-A New Era in Spine Care, a new book edited by Guyer and Ziegler. He presently collaborates with over 15 spine surgeons in the Los Angeles area, has performed over 3000 open anterior approaches to the lumbar spine and has also been a pioneer in anterior laparoscopic and thoracoscopic access. Dr. Brau has developed a new “mini-open” approach using his "patented" retractors specifically designed for exposure of the anterior lumbar spine. Dr. Brau will Chair the Access Surgery Advisory Board for the optimization of Raymedica’s Nucleus Arthroplasty™ Technology.

Reginald Davis, M.D., F.A.C.S., is founder of Baltimore Neurosurgical Associates (BNA) and Chief of Neurosurgery at Greater Baltimore Medical Center. Dr. Davis is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a Diplomate of the American Board of Neurological Surgery and a Diplomate of the American Board of Spine Surgery. Dr. Davis is not only a leading Neurosurgeon; he is a teacher of surgeons and a research scientist. He is on the faculty of the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and the University of Maryland. He has also conducted some 40 training courses for practicing surgeons on such advanced procedures as dynamic spinal stabilization, intradiscal electrothermal therapy, and microendoscopic disectomy.

Michael R. Hahn, II, M.D. is a Neurosurgeon and founding member of the Oklahoma Spine Hospital, a physician-owned specialty spine hospital providing advanced medical and surgical treatment for patients suffering from diseases of the spine. Dr. Hahn received his medical degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine and completed his Neurosurgery Fellowship at Emory University in Complex Spine where he is an Assistant Professor, Neurosurgery. Dr. Hahn is Board Certified with the American Board of Neurological Surgery, a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons and is a principal investigator of the Flexicore® Lumbar Intervertebral Disc Replacement. Dr. Hahn has several instrument and device patents pending.
