| Our PDN-SOLO®
and PDN-SOLO XL™ prosthetic disc nucleus devices are spinal Nucleus
Arthroplasty™ motion preservation devices that are a replacement
for the nucleus of a diseased lumbar disc. These devices are implanted
in the spinal disc using a less invasive surgical procedure than what
is currently available with other spinal implants. Our products are intended
to provide pain relief and improved spinal motion in patients suffering
from degenerative disc disease or disc herniations.
The PDN-SOLO prosthetic disc nucleus device is a single-unit implant designed
to replace the diseased nucleus and restore the disc height segment. The
PDN-SOLO device is implanted via a Posterior PDN Approach (PPA) or an
AnteroLateral TransPsoatic Approach (ALPA). PPA allows direct decompression
with access to the disc space via laminotomy. ALPA provides direct lateral
access to the disc space with no disruption of the posterior elements.
Each of these approaches uses the PDN-SOLO hydrogel core encased in a
polyethylene jacket technology that has outstanding flexibility to facilitate
delivery through each anatomic approach and provides conformability to
adapt to the human intervertebral disc space.
To date, over 4,600 patients worldwide have received either the PDN®
or a PDN-SOLO prosthetic disc nucleus implant.
Raymedica is the Pioneer in Nucleus Arthroplasty motion preservation
technology as a result of the extensive clinical experience gained from
over 4,600 implants worldwide and our continued research efforts.
